The Glenwood Fire Station #3 takes its cues from the architectural precedents of the Glenwood Canyon community, and includes a three bay station house, complete with crew's living quarters and ancillary office and technical functions. The traditional hose drying technique of hanging the hoses from a tall space gave rise to the inclusion of an entry tower, which is functional for exactly that reason, as well as giving the building an architectural focus. A residential scaled front porch and residential roof massing gives this Fire Station and warm and inviting feeling for the firefighter's who call it home for a large part of their daily lives.
