About RMT

History of RMT Architects

RMT was founded in May 1996 in Vail, Colorado, after enthusiastic and diverse architects met one another while working in the Resort and Luxury Home industry at a well respected local design firm.  Almost immediately, RMT demonstrated its design and management skills by designing the very first home in Bachelor Gulch, a home which was soon thereafter featured on Home and Garden Television (HGTV).

Prior to the formation of RMT the partners had successfully participated in projects in England, Canada, the South Pacific, and across the United Sates, and we are currently involved throughout the Rocky Mountain States, California, and the South East.

The principals of RMT each bring to the table unique personalities and skill sets, and is proud of their talented and energetic staff of architects and designers.  Harvey Robertson is the Managing Partner of the firm. He oversees the day to day operations of the firm, as well as the management flow of each project. Throughout his 30+ year career he has delivered a number of large scale urban infill projects, for municipal and corporate clients, both in the United States and abroad.  Paul Miller is the Partner in-charge of design, and manages his respective design teams. His 24 year career has been highlighted by a number of distinguished published works, and his ongoing years of dedication to various design review board appointments.  Chad Salter is a registered architect, LEED-AP,  and serve our clients by bringing expertise in green technologies, communication technologies and the management of accuracy and completeness of the end product.

Each of the partners at RMT is an active member of the community, involved in activities such as coaching youth athletic teams, donating time and resources to the public school system, and participating with local charities.  This participation is reflective of our belief that Design should not only meet the functional and financial goals of its Owners, but should also reinforce the quality and value of the Community as a whole.

As members of the community RMT places emphasis on the importance of local history, traditions, and energy efficient building techniques in our designs.  Furthermore, we place the utmost importance on personal communication and interaction with our Clients, not only at the beginning, but throughout the life of our Projects.

Our commitment to our clients is to provide the newest and most sophisticated design tools and project documentation systems. Versions of Sketchup and AutoCAD are introduced in the design process at an early stage.  These tools allow RMT to offer highly informative visualization and analytical tools to the entire project team.  RMT also offers highly efficient and cutting-edge Internet and e-mail communication tools, including RMT Web Access, which complements personal interaction with the entire team, and gives remotely located clients and consultants’ easy access to all of the project documentation.
